do the job!

have this for 3 years now (still working!) it is still painfull (let's be honest!) but it is easy to use - wireless and you can use it under the shower. Remove even very short hair and leave skin smooth.

Yes, I recommend this product !

Upgrade

I have had 3 previous models and love them. My current one is in need of an upgrade soon as starting to loose its charge and speed hence not giving 5/5 but when new was fantastic. Will certainly stick with the brand.

Yes, I recommend this product !

It's waterproof!

In my previous review I had tested the Braun Silk-epil on dry skin and was impressed with the results. This time I decided to give it a go on wet skin. This feature is so handy - being able to use an epil in the shower means less pain (due hot water helping to open pores) and less awkward hair removal. Super convenient way to keep skin smooth. It also means that you can clean the epil really well under hot water without worrying about breaking it. I wasn't much of an epilator before this product but now I'm saying goodbye to my razor!

Still too painful...

So, I have tried epilators in the past, years ago, and found them to just not he worth the pain. I was looking forward to trying a more 'modern' version with the Braun Silk-epil to see if it could change my mind about this torturous form of hair removal. I'm generally too lazy to do anything other than shave due to its convenience, so had to 'prep' for using the silk-epil by growing some good old leg hair (thankfully it's not the weather to be wearing skirts!!)I was glad to see that the silk-epil can pick up even the shortest of hairs so it didn't take too long for my legs to be ready for some hair removal!Side note - the product comes in a great setup, a good range of extra adaptors and in a lovely sparkly white colour, and also with a small bag to keep it all in. The silk-epil can be used wet or dry so I decided to try both, one for each leg!Dry - OUCH...if anyone has had tattoo removal, this is a similar kind of pain! A burning needle sensation. I'm not going to lie, it took me around 3 hours to do one leg due to needed to stop for 10 minutes to rub the stinging areas!l and reprepare myself! To be fair, it did get 80% of the hairs out, leaving only slight redness. Wet - OUCH AGAIN...but slightly less. The warm water of a bath seemed to help slightly with the pain, but it certainly wasn't a relaxing glass of wine and bubbles kind of bath. I wanted to give enough time following using the silk-epil so I could comment on regrowth. Firstly I had two ingrown hairs, this isn't anything to unusual as I always tend to get these from waxing. I would advise a good exfoliate before epilating in future. Regrowth has been similar to what you expect from waxing and other similar methods. Definitely keeps legs hair free for around 2 weeks, and much longer than shaving would. Now apparently epilating gets easier and less painful as time goes on. Therefore I am going to give it a couple more tries as my hair grows back as I would love a longer term hair removal solution. I can't say i was brace enough to epilate bikini line but I tried the little shaver that came with the set and found it to be great and gets close to skin. This has now been stolen by my husband who loves using it for maintaining his beard!! so it must be good. I don't think epilating will ever be painfree but this silk-epil is an improvement on previous epilators and does do what it says on the box.

I love my Braun Skil-Epil

I think I couldn't live without my Braun Skil-Epil 7 7-561 with its 8 extras including the most needed bikini trimmer. It saves me enormous time throughout the month but above all it achieves great results and my hairs take longer to grow with the epilation than if I kept on using the traditional razor.Unlike the razor, I don't have to epilate every day. I use mine once a week and it is more than enough.I have been recommended to my friends, colleagues and some members of my family. Love it.

Moustache free

I've just used the Braun silk epil 7 with the facial hair attachment which makes the surface area smaller so easier to control. I followed the instructions to keep skin taught. I admit I practiced on the back of my hand first because I was a little nervous. I then braved it and used it on the slow speed to epilate the sparse but obvious hairs I have above my top lip. It does pinch a little but I persisted and the epilator has removed every hair including the fine ones. I'm delighted as even though I'm not very hairy, face make up always accentuates them. I would recommend practising first and then just do it !!

Painless yet effective hair removal?

I've been struggling over winter to pluck up (pun intended) the motivation to shave my legs every day. I was blessed/cursed (delete as appropriate) with fair hair. I therefore have to spend ages shaving my legs every day thanks to the sun showing up every single hair like a small beacon of light. I've thought about getting my legs waxed professionally, however it costs money & time. Like most things in life.I've tried epilation in the past but drew the same conclusion every time. Too painful. Then the Braun Silk-Epil 7-561 came in to my life like a knight in a shining plastic safety guard. The main concern I had when looking in to using an epilator again was the pain. What would I do if I couldn't bear to use it? That's when the '8 extras' that come with then epilator saved the day for me! It includes a bikini trimmer (in case you can't stand to epilate in such a delicate area), several attachments to focus the epilator on a particular area i.e your face, even an electric shaving attachment! Perfect. If it hurts too much then you can just switch to the electric shaving attachment (which is far more effective than any other razor that I own so is worth it alone). So, did it actually hurt? I must admit I was pretty terrified when I turned it on for the first time. I read the instructions several hundred times before I dared place the epilator on my leg. What if I do it wrong? What if I rip my skin off instead of my leg hair? Finally I braved it. My immediate reaction was 'is that it?'. Hardly any pain at all. Imagine pins and needles - with the very occasional teeny tiny pinch as a stubborn hair is plucked out. Completely bearable (as were my legs afterwards). The epilator is pretty on the eye (with little flecks of delicate glitter incorporated in to the design), the handle is super gripable even when your hands are soapy and wet (yes you can use this epilator wet or dry), and the light is super useful for us fair-haired girls. I moved on to trying it out on the fair hairs that are dotted around my face. I added the face attachment and off I went. Again, the pain is no worse than a quick plucking, yet it's over in half the time. Perfect. The best thing about it is that the more your body gets used to using it, the less it'll hurt. The requirement to shave my legs every day has been completely eradicated, but should I ever feel the need to then I can just switch to the electric shaving attachment without an issue. It even comes with a handy little carry bag to keep everything in, so I won't lose any of the attachments (a great addition for someone as clumsy as me).Overall, one of the best epilators I've used!

Look gorgeous this summer

The silk epil bikini styler from Braun comes in the same box with the silk epil 7 and it is used to trim hair from any curved area on the body such as the bikini line. This device is small, ergonomic, easy to hold and handle and very lightweight. It is battery operated working with a 1.5 V AAA battery provided in the pack. While trying the bikini styler I was wondering how I was able to manage before without it. I did find using the styler very easy since due to the curved shape of its head it can really adjust to any angle around the bikini area and also trim and style very well. It will not leave skin irritated, and the whole process is fast and pain-free, leaving lasting results. It is such a useful device especially in summer going swimming, going on holiday to the beach; it makes life so much easier. I can hardly wait for summer to come and I heartily recommend the silk epil bikini styler from Braun.

What a revelation!

I've had the Braun Silk-épil for couple of weeks now and I am pleased and pleasantly surprised at how effective it really is. I've never used an epilator before but had heard that it can sometimes be a somewhat painful experience! There is no getting away from the fact that it can be a bit on the uncomfortable side, particularly on first use, but the fact that this epilator can be used it the shower or bath makes the whole process a lot more manageable. It also comes with a variety of attachments which help deal with more "delicate areas". I've used it repeatedly on my fore arms and legs and the skin stays lovely and smooth and the regrown is less dense and easy to manage. Its also true that the more you use it the less uncomfortable it gets and even at its most uncomfortable, its still way better than waxing! my top tip would be use a good quality moisturiser after use to keep the skin really silky soft. In terms of build quality and battery life, i've still not had to charge it (and i've used it a lot!) and all the attachments are really easy to use and take off and clean. The bonus of having a water resistant bag to store it all in is excellent and means not only do I not loose any parts of the kit but it also makes it really easy and compact to store. Over all I really love the Braun Silk-épil 7 7-561 and would absolutely recommend it over waxing.

No more waxing. Epilating is the future!

I've just tried my new Braun Silk-épil 7 7-561 with 8 extras including bikini trimmer and it is amazing. I was a bit cautious as I thought it was going to hurt as per the tales of old epilators but this one was fab! Of course you can feel it but as long as you follow the instructions for use and pull the skin taught, it's not, in my opinion, as bad as waxing and it leaves a much smoother finish than shaving.Normally I wax or shave but I hate the sticky mess I leave my legs in after waxing and shaving really leaves my skin chaffed-this epilator did away with these issues and I'm really pleased with the results. Plus the fact you can use it in the shower too is a great added bonus!I definitely won't go back and the bottle of hair remover cream that stinks so much and lives in the cupboard will be going in the bin. Epilating is the future :-)
