have this for 3 years now (still working!) it is still painfull (let's be honest!) but it is easy to use - wireless and you can use it under the shower. Remove even very short hair and leave skin smooth.
Yes, I recommend this product !
I have had 3 previous models and love them. My current one is in need of an upgrade soon as starting to loose its charge and speed hence not giving 5/5 but when new was fantastic. Will certainly stick with the brand.
I've used epilators before with varying degrees of success, some have worked, some haven't. Yes they do hurt a bit - well you are ripping your hairs out by the roots!!!The Braun Silk-épil 7 7-561 is good and I mean really good - it is so easy to use and it removed the hair quickly and efficiently. My legs were left smooth and pretty hair free. On finishing the legs were left a bit bumpy but that soon settled down and within a few hours. They stayed hair free for the best part of a week and I then used it again - this time on short hair and again it removed it all. Using it regularly over and over again it'll make the hairs weaker and weaker and they may eventually stop growing back. The epilator itself is cordless and when it is connected to charge up it does so quickly and efficiently. I'm really happy with the product and look forward to a summer of hair free legs.
I received this product in winter, so the hair on my legs was longer than the maximum length suggested in the instructions. I decided to take the risk and try it anyway. I have never used an epilator before, so I cannot compare the level of pain to other epilators. The first touch to my leg was very painful and I wondered how I would manage to do both legs, but I soon got used to it. I don't think it took much longer than shaving with an electric shaver. I also used it on my underarms using the attachment for sensitive areas. I was not very careful and cut myself a fair bit under my arms, but I think it should be possible to become more skilled at this. I am definitely going to try to become more skilled, as the length of time it takes for hairs to grow back is much greater than with my shaver which is a big selling point for me.The light on the product was a nice touch which helped me to not miss too many hairs, especially as the instructions suggested using the epilator in the evening in case of redness.I struggled to work out what the attachments all do. It is not clear in the instructions. It does list what they do on the side of the box, so do not throw it away.I am delighted that this product also has an electric shaver head with a trimmer cap, but I am not sure it can replace my current Braun electric shaver as it does not come with the glide cap I am used to using. The mini bikini trimmer works well.Overall, this is a good product that I will keep using.
I have waxed previously but I felt that the results weren't really worth the money and the time taken to grow the hair/book salon appointments, so I've generally stuck to disposable razors.I thought that epilation might be worth a try although I was a little apprehensive, as it's much harder to knowingly inflict pain on yourself without giving up halfway through - which is the very reason I've never waxed at home! I decided to try wet and dry on my legs and underarms for a full comparison. Overall there probably wasn't a significant difference between wet and dry usage, so it's a case of personal preference. The info booklet is really helpful and their advice on using the different attachments/speeds based on how experienced you are is sound - my underarms were FAR more sensitive than my legs and ended up pretty red afterwards. It took a few 'strokes' so the pain lasted longer than a wax but I think once you get the hang of it you could up the speed and that wouldn't be the case. I can't comment just yet on how long the finish lasts but I'm actually really happy with the results. A bit of discomfort every few weeks at home is far more convenient and cheaper than a salon visit, and I'll save lots of time not having to shave in the shower each day! Definitely lots of plus points so far!
I have to say I was a little nervous about the using the Braun Silk-épil 7 but I was pleasantly surprised. For many years I have only used razors on my legs and underarms as the last time I went for a wax on my legs it totally put me off.I was trying to figure out what option to use first - do I shave using the shaver head or do I go straight for the epilator? I decided to use both, my right leg the epilator and left leg the shaver.I was a little nervous and just decided to go for it, the first pass over and around the ankle area was little stinging but after a while you did not notice it and as I continued with the rest of my leg I felt nothing, it was great, however not every hair gets 'plucked' first time round so you do need to go over your legs a couple of times to catch the really fine hairs but if you do it over a couple of days it's not problem. As for the shaver attachment I really do like this especially if you are running short of time and can not for whatever reason get the razor and cream out as I have on many occasions fallen foul of the 'Oh I forgot to shave my legs this morning' syndrome.I am so going to be using this from now on.Next is to try and get the courage to use the other attachments on the 'sensitive areas' ie: my armpits..
The epilwtor unit has been well designed so it sits comfortably in your hand and the controls have been well placed to allow you to easily change through the different speed settings with ease. The range of attachments included mean that was always an option available for whatever area I was trying to treat. The shaver head is a great addition to help trim longer hair pre-epilation. As I have sensitive skin the sensitive area cap was a great addition for me, especially when using this on my underarms.I have to say the experience is not pain free but it is more a short discomfort than an unbearable pain. I also found that the fact that I could use the epilator in the shower was a huge benefit and increased the efficiency. Overall I was really impressed with this product and found the results long lasting as promised. It does take time to get everywhere hair free but since the results last a while it's worth the time.I only wish that there had been an option to plug this in to charge the batteries instead of having to change them so I could ensure the epilator always had a full charge. Out with that this is a well designed product with a selection of very useful attachments. The results are as promised and long lasting.
I think the Braun Silk épil 7 is an awesome product! I have never used an epilator before & have always wet shaved but I am pleasantly suprised with this funky little unit. Indeed the actual look of the unit with a subtle white sparkle effect is just lovely. The first time I used the Braun Silk épil I have to say I did find it quite painful & it left my legs looking a little red however once I got used to the process - I found it extremely easy to use & it left my legs silky smooth once I had moiturised. The second time I used the epilator I found it didn't hurt hardly at all & would say it definitely worked better on shorter hair length (the blurb states 2-5mm is the optimum length of hair growth) & I definitely agree with this. I used it in the bath at night time & found the light on the unit particularly useful.I haven't used all of the attachments as yet but used the bikini trimmer & was pleased with the results - a definite bonus! Overall I am extremely happy with this epilator & although I haven't been brave enough to use it on my underarms or bikini line I would definitely recommend it to friends & family!!
The silk epil bikini styler from Braun comes in the same box with the silk epil 7 and it is used to trim hair from any curved area on the body such as the bikini line. This device is small, ergonomic, easy to hold and handle and very lightweight. It is battery operated working with a 1.5 V AAA battery provided in the pack. While trying the bikini styler I was wondering how I was able to manage before without it. I did find using the styler very easy since due to the curved shape of its head it can really adjust to any angle around the bikini area and also trim and style very well. It will not leave skin irritated, and the whole process is fast and pain-free, leaving lasting results. It is such a useful device especially in summer going swimming, going on holiday to the beach; it makes life so much easier. I can hardly wait for summer to come and I heartily recommend the silk epil bikini styler from Braun.
I've just tried my new Braun Silk-épil 7 7-561 with 8 extras including bikini trimmer and it is amazing. I was a bit cautious as I thought it was going to hurt as per the tales of old epilators but this one was fab! Of course you can feel it but as long as you follow the instructions for use and pull the skin taught, it's not, in my opinion, as bad as waxing and it leaves a much smoother finish than shaving.Normally I wax or shave but I hate the sticky mess I leave my legs in after waxing and shaving really leaves my skin chaffed-this epilator did away with these issues and I'm really pleased with the results. Plus the fact you can use it in the shower too is a great added bonus!I definitely won't go back and the bottle of hair remover cream that stinks so much and lives in the cupboard will be going in the bin. Epilating is the future :-)
