I have had 3 previous models and love them. My current one is in need of an upgrade soon as starting to loose its charge and speed hence not giving 5/5 but when new was fantastic. Will certainly stick with the brand.
Yes, I recommend this product !
have this for 3 years now (still working!) it is still painfull (let's be honest!) but it is easy to use - wireless and you can use it under the shower. Remove even very short hair and leave skin smooth.
I was a bit nervous when I took my Braun Silk-épil 7 out of the box, especially when I took the 8 extras including bikini trimmer out and faced the prospect of epilating my lady bits! Previous brushes with epilation have only led to them being abandoned once the pain kicked in as my hair was yanked through my sensitive skin but on this occasion I needn't have worried, this epilator is brilliant! The pain was almost non-existant and the finish hair free, the bikini trimmer worked perfectly and it all came with a convenient bag to keep it tucked away in.The only minus I could come up with is that I needed to refer to the box to work out which attachment was which and I couldn't see anything on the attachments themselves to say what they were for, maybe a little symbol on each one would be great.I'm looking forward to using it again, definitely not what I thought I'd be saying!
I've been struggling over winter to pluck up (pun intended) the motivation to shave my legs every day. I was blessed/cursed (delete as appropriate) with fair hair. I therefore have to spend ages shaving my legs every day thanks to the sun showing up every single hair like a small beacon of light. I've thought about getting my legs waxed professionally, however it costs money & time. Like most things in life.I've tried epilation in the past but drew the same conclusion every time. Too painful. Then the Braun Silk-Epil 7-561 came in to my life like a knight in a shining plastic safety guard. The main concern I had when looking in to using an epilator again was the pain. What would I do if I couldn't bear to use it? That's when the '8 extras' that come with then epilator saved the day for me! It includes a bikini trimmer (in case you can't stand to epilate in such a delicate area), several attachments to focus the epilator on a particular area i.e your face, even an electric shaving attachment! Perfect. If it hurts too much then you can just switch to the electric shaving attachment (which is far more effective than any other razor that I own so is worth it alone). So, did it actually hurt? I must admit I was pretty terrified when I turned it on for the first time. I read the instructions several hundred times before I dared place the epilator on my leg. What if I do it wrong? What if I rip my skin off instead of my leg hair? Finally I braved it. My immediate reaction was 'is that it?'. Hardly any pain at all. Imagine pins and needles - with the very occasional teeny tiny pinch as a stubborn hair is plucked out. Completely bearable (as were my legs afterwards). The epilator is pretty on the eye (with little flecks of delicate glitter incorporated in to the design), the handle is super gripable even when your hands are soapy and wet (yes you can use this epilator wet or dry), and the light is super useful for us fair-haired girls. I moved on to trying it out on the fair hairs that are dotted around my face. I added the face attachment and off I went. Again, the pain is no worse than a quick plucking, yet it's over in half the time. Perfect. The best thing about it is that the more your body gets used to using it, the less it'll hurt. The requirement to shave my legs every day has been completely eradicated, but should I ever feel the need to then I can just switch to the electric shaving attachment without an issue. It even comes with a handy little carry bag to keep everything in, so I won't lose any of the attachments (a great addition for someone as clumsy as me).Overall, one of the best epilators I've used!
I've been a lifelong leg-shaver, basically because shaving is handy, quick and painless. If I'm going on holiday I'll get my legs/bikini line waxed but not regularly because of cost and well, pain! I've always steered clear of epilators because I was led to believe they were painful. Well! The silk-épil did not promise to be completely pain free - the instructions said that it would possibly be painful at first but pain would diminish with use. I used it for the first about a week after shaving my legs so there was about a 2-3mm regrowth. As recommended in the instructions, I pulled the skin on my leg taut and pressed it lightly on my skin. It was reasonably uncomfortable at first, especially on sections close to bone (ankles and shins) but it was so impressive. And Quick! And mess free. No shaving foam required, I used it dry so the only cleaning required was when I finished, I took the head off and gave it a rinse. The next day there was more hair regrowth coming through from the shaving so I went over it again, this time in half the time and already with half the pain. My skin felt really smooth and soft after using it. The instructions recommend that you epilate at night as it can make skin a little red - it does, especially first usage but this lessens the more you use it. I put some Moroccan oil on afterwards and the redness dropped quickly. I used the sensitive skills n fittings for underarm and bikini line - this is a little more painful but again, definitely gets less painful with more use. I genuinely love this product, I would highly recommend it. I can't believe how handy and easy it is.
Oh wow. Where do I start?! First of all, I already have an epilator. One that needs to be plugged into electrics and my bathroom has no sockets, plus it is really hard to clean as you can't pull it apart. That being said, I used it a couple of times and it's been collecting dust for a good few years now.I was thrilled to try the new Braun Silk-Épil. Not only is it cordless, it's waterproof and had lots of accessories. It really didn't disappoint. I can use it in the shower, which means cleaning it is super quick and easy and I won't have stray hairs all over my floors. The battery lasts long enough to epilate my legs, bikini area and armpits two times over and charging only takes a few hours. Now for the efficiency; top marks here. Pulls out not only the thick, course hairs, but also the white, fluffier ones. You do have to go over each area a few times but it's still a very quick process and since the hair is being pulled out by the root, not only will it take much longer for it to grow back, the hair also grows back softer and gradually will reduce in volume. For best results I would always recommend exfoliating the area thorougly before use and make sure the epilator is clean. Use it in the shower as the water opens up the pores and means the hairs will come out more easily. Personally, I apply tea tree oil after any form of hair removal as it's anti bacterial so will help you to avoid any bumps or ingrown hairs when the hair eventually grows back.As for pain levels; no issue here. Best way I can describe it is as if someone were holding an elastic band close to your skin and pulled two inches away and realeased. Legs are super easy, bikini area a little trickier but you get used to it really quickly. The bikini trimmer is super handy too for those of you that like a 'landing strip' but I also used it to trim my eyebrows.Make sure you moisturise well afterwards and if the area becomes red and irratated, like happened to me the first couple of times, anything cold will stop the slight itch that might come with it but you'd get it far worse from a wax as that not only irritates the hair follicle but the skin as well. Any redness and/or itch will go down within a couple of hours. All in all a fantastic device that any lady not only deserves but needs. Beauty is pain after all but with Braun Skil-Épil it's completely worth it. Highly recommend, 6 stars if I could.
I've had the Braun Silk-épil for couple of weeks now and I am pleased and pleasantly surprised at how effective it really is. I've never used an epilator before but had heard that it can sometimes be a somewhat painful experience! There is no getting away from the fact that it can be a bit on the uncomfortable side, particularly on first use, but the fact that this epilator can be used it the shower or bath makes the whole process a lot more manageable. It also comes with a variety of attachments which help deal with more "delicate areas". I've used it repeatedly on my fore arms and legs and the skin stays lovely and smooth and the regrown is less dense and easy to manage. Its also true that the more you use it the less uncomfortable it gets and even at its most uncomfortable, its still way better than waxing! my top tip would be use a good quality moisturiser after use to keep the skin really silky soft. In terms of build quality and battery life, i've still not had to charge it (and i've used it a lot!) and all the attachments are really easy to use and take off and clean. The bonus of having a water resistant bag to store it all in is excellent and means not only do I not loose any parts of the kit but it also makes it really easy and compact to store. Over all I really love the Braun Silk-épil 7 7-561 and would absolutely recommend it over waxing.
As I was a complete newbie to epilation, I was super nervous when using this a couple of weeks back. As per my previous review I needn't have worried and I was really pleased with the immediate results. A couple of weeks have now passed and one of the biggest bonuses for me is that my underarms are much less red and irritated than when I was using a razor every day - the initial discomfort was well worth it! Another plus (over waxing) is that when I do see some regrowth, it's a really quick job to do a 'touch up'. I'd definitely say that the advice in the instruction booklet to charge the devidence after each use is well worth sticking to - I did notice a difference in speed having not charged it since my initial use.Overall I think I'm a convert - it's the best combination of convenience and long-lasting results I've found for hair removal.
I have to say I was a little nervous about the using the Braun Silk-épil 7 but I was pleasantly surprised. For many years I have only used razors on my legs and underarms as the last time I went for a wax on my legs it totally put me off.I was trying to figure out what option to use first - do I shave using the shaver head or do I go straight for the epilator? I decided to use both, my right leg the epilator and left leg the shaver.I was a little nervous and just decided to go for it, the first pass over and around the ankle area was little stinging but after a while you did not notice it and as I continued with the rest of my leg I felt nothing, it was great, however not every hair gets 'plucked' first time round so you do need to go over your legs a couple of times to catch the really fine hairs but if you do it over a couple of days it's not problem. As for the shaver attachment I really do like this especially if you are running short of time and can not for whatever reason get the razor and cream out as I have on many occasions fallen foul of the 'Oh I forgot to shave my legs this morning' syndrome.I am so going to be using this from now on.Next is to try and get the courage to use the other attachments on the 'sensitive areas' ie: my armpits..
The silk epil bikini styler from Braun comes in the same box with the silk epil 7 and it is used to trim hair from any curved area on the body such as the bikini line. This device is small, ergonomic, easy to hold and handle and very lightweight. It is battery operated working with a 1.5 V AAA battery provided in the pack. While trying the bikini styler I was wondering how I was able to manage before without it. I did find using the styler very easy since due to the curved shape of its head it can really adjust to any angle around the bikini area and also trim and style very well. It will not leave skin irritated, and the whole process is fast and pain-free, leaving lasting results. It is such a useful device especially in summer going swimming, going on holiday to the beach; it makes life so much easier. I can hardly wait for summer to come and I heartily recommend the silk epil bikini styler from Braun.
